Press Crew January 27, 2015 Although the boys’ and girls’ 2014 soccer season has come to an end, both teams finished with successful seasons.
The girls’ JV finished the season with an incredible record of 8-7-2 and the varsity accomplished a record of 6-8-3. “As a goal keeper, I know I can’t win a game but I can save it and every day I can never stop improving for my team and for myself,” sophomore goalie McKenzie Bostic said. The girls’ varsity team celebrated its season ending with a tie against Deltona High (record: 5-7-4), as well as honoring the seniors, who include Sarah Jeffreys, Taylor Smith, Olivia Stuart, Dalis Driggers and Megan Carlisle. When asked about advice she’d give to any underclassman about soccer, Stuart said, “Try out for the team and try your hardest to do great, no matter what!” The boys’ JV ended with an unforgettable season of 12-0-3. Sophomore Thomas Bryant who plays on the JV team, said, “I thank my coaches, Coach Hanson and Coach Frost, for always helping us and making us a better team, day in and day out. I have respect for every single one of my teammates and I’m proud to call them my family.” The boys’ varsity team finished the season with 9-5-3. “I hope to come in next year recovered from my injury and be in the starting eleven.” junior Lucas Hanson said, after tearing his ACL in the November 3, 2014 game. The boys’ varsity team ended their season against Pine Ridge with a loss of 2-1. On Tuesday January 13, 2015, they celebrated and honored the seniors of the team. Seniors include Sean Meade, Seth Frierson, Noah Harper, Eddie Salas, Samuel Murray, David Shoemake, Alex Couture and Nathan Bodger. Meade was asked about how much this team has meant to him these past four years and he responded with, “My team has become a family to me and my teammates have become some of my closet friends.” As seniors prepare for the next step in their life, the underclassmen prepare for next season. |
