Bright House is now SpectrumBy Lauren Bjella
Staff Reporter February 6, 2017 Bright House customers: You now belong to Spectrum for cable TV, phone and Internet service.
Charter has merged with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks and according to their website (https://www.charter.com) they are going to “become the fastest growing TV, Internet and voice provider,” but many people aren’t buying it. With this new change, bills are fluctuating, TV is having major issues and the internet is slower than ever. I mean, how am I supposed to watch all of my funny cat videos on such a slow internet? During this merge, many prices are randomly going up and customers have become furious. The fact is that the company is trying to rack in as much as they can as fast as they can to get back their $8 billion that they spent on buying Bright House. So once again the little person gets stuck with the big corporation bill. Another major problem that has also had many complaints is their TV. My mom and I have had Bright House for years, and we have had some home phone issues here and there, but never any major TV problems until it became Spectrum. The day 2017 began the TV would say the guide button was unavailable, wouldn’t say what the show I was watching was, it would just say unavailable and it stopped recording and wouldn’t record any of my shows. Let’s just say there was a very unhappy teenager when I realized that my favorite shows weren’t recording. To me, it is extremely unfair that we as customers are experiencing so many issues when all we did was try and binge watch TV and call our friends. So when they say they are “redefining what a cable company can be” and that we should “be prepared for a brighter tomorrow” what they really mean is that now we are stuck with a letdown of a cable company. Wonderful. |
