Black Friday: Taking away from ThanksgivingBy Alicia Wilson
Entertainment Editor December 11, 2015 Is Black Friday taking away from thanksgiving? As we know Black Friday as the biggest day to go out holiday shopping and get the best deals. It's called Black Friday, but yet over the past couple of years it seems more like Black Friday. Now it just seems like a store competition, seeing who can open up the earliest year. Such as Big Lot opens up at 7 AM and JCPenny's doors open at 3 PM.
For Black Friday we always think about our selfish wants. Like how we want to go Walmart just to get a flat screen TV or go to clothing store to get some much percentage off a purchase. It seems like, we never think of the worker. They probably don't want to spend their Thanksgiving at work. Yes, they're getting paid a little extra but why would they to work on that holiday? The day they could be spending with their love ones. It takes away from Thanksgiving, they day you're suppose to be thankful for what and you who you have. Thanksgiving should be spent as eating delicious food, telling great stories and playing crazy games. Such as the most popular game as of recently, 'Hasbro Pie Face Game'. Then go Black Friday shopping around or after midnight when it's actually Friday. Not eating dinner at 2 and heading out the stores around 4 that afternoon. Actual Black Friday Experience Depending on where you're going traffic can seem pretty scary. People will turn into reckless drivers just get to the 'hot' deals. Going out you have to be extremely careful and watch the other driver. Once you actual get to the place you want to shop at, just go it. Go for those deals you can only get once a year. Have fun shopping but still be careful in stores as well, Depending on the items people can go pretty crazy. If don't like being in crowed area, but you still want the Black Friday experience, for some stores you can shop online get and get the same deals as you would in-store. Because of the more quality of items and shopping online, luckily it has reduced the chaos and violence that has happen in the previous years with Black Friday. Black Friday might be fun; you'll get some fantastic deals and semi-fun memories. Just don't let Black Friday take away Thanksgiving. That's the day to be thankful. |
