What To Do Over Holiday Break?
By Kylianne Philip
Staff Reporter December 20, 2017 As many students know, Winter Break is right around the corner. However, what they don’t know is the wide variety of activities and events to take part in. There is something for everyone and it will make your break memorable.
Many events over break are local. Downtown DeLand has many events. Every Friday, there is a Farmers Market in Artisan Alley open to everyone. On December 22, “The Fridays Before Christmas” is taking place. This week, the activity is making reindeer food. There is also a scavenger hunt in the shops ending December 21. Each store has toy soldiers hidden in different locations and you go to each store to try and find them. Once you have a stamp or signature from every store, you can turn it in to receive a prize. You can also just walk around and look at the different shops. If you are more in the mood for staying home, there are still tons of activities to do. You can watch Christmas movies, invite friends over or make/wrap presents. If you wanted to, you could stay home all break and relax. After the holiday, you will have more things to put in your room, so you could organize it all or use it. You can do whatever you want, it is your house after all. Additional activities are visiting Christmas lights, bowling, mini golfing, going to the movies, hanging out with friends or just relaxing. A lot of these options are cheap and some are even free. A majority of them are also local, so you don’t have to go far. You can also bring friends to all of these, or do them by yourself. It’s your break so spend it how you want to. If you are staying home for the holidays and don’t know what to do, here are some ideas to make this Holiday Break fun. As you can see, there are many events and activities that are fun for everyone. Hopefully, you now have some ideas for how you want to spend this holiday break. |
