Spring Break Expectations versus RealityBy Kerrigan Kaiser
Staff Reporter March 10, 2017 Spring break expectations versus reality, it’s finally spring break. By high scholar’s definition spring break is a time to relax, sleep in, watch Netflix and of course, have amazing adventures and travel. You can get all of this done in a span of a week. Spring break is like getting a little taste of what summer will be like. You get so excited. You plan trips and outfits and where you’re going to eat. You make reservations and pack and then you’re off on your spring break 2017 adventure.
Spring break is like a little taste of summer. Summer is by far the best time of the year. Getting to sleep in, relax, travel, shop, and basically do whatever you want. The list goes on and on. And spring break is like the teaser trailer of all of that. However, we as teenagers think and semi plan all of these trips and events to attend, but then it comes time to book and budget for these trips and you come to realize that this is no longer in the cards for you. You begin to realize that you’re broke and can’t drive farther than Disney. So now your spring break has turned into the opposite of what you had hoped for. But don’t worry, your spring break will still be filled with plans, just not the ones you planned for. When your spring break plans fall through there is no need to worry. You will still do stuff. You can always still go to the beach and have mall days with your friends or maybe even hit up a theme park or two. But what usually happens is the first day of spring break arrives. You sleep in and tell yourself you’re going to use this day as your relaxing day. But then, you finally look at your phone and check the day and you realize tomorrow is your last day of spring break and all you’ve done is lay in bed and watch Netflix and you’ve only gotten up to go to the bathroom and go get food. That was how you spent your spring break. So whether you plan to have this huge spring or just plan to lie around and relax make memories. Take pictures, laugh, and just live your life cause in the end that’s what its all about. It’s not about the big trips or the adventures you take. Do whatever you want and do what makes you happy. Happy spring break y’all! |
