Being a teenager can be stressful at times considering the fact that many students have to balance school, homework/projects and in/out of school sports, possibly even a job, and maintain a social life. The question frequently asked is how do teenagers manage all of this?
The problem most of the time is that teens don’t put in the effort and time to balance all of this but still manage to. However, they end up stressed and exhausted. To prevent this, students manage their time. They’ll put aside a few hours for homework and studying. Why put aside a few hours to do homework or study? In the long run it will put less stress on yourself and you won’t procrastinate.
Instead of staying up until 1 a.m. on twitter or texting, go to bed earlier. That way you get a goodnight of sleep so you aren’t in a bad mood and you don’t fall asleep in class which will put you behind and your grades will drop, which means you’ll have to retake test and go to tutoring. Going to bed early will help you manage your time better.
If you happen to be falling behind in classes and need help, you could always get tutoring. Talk to your coach if you play a sport and tell them that you need to take more time and spend it on schooling. Explain to them that your grades are dropping or you’re struggling in a certain subject. Ask for a practice off and take that time to go to tutoring.
With teens taking on the responsibility of doing many things while managing their times it makes them more mature. For more information on time management you can go to www.pamf.org
