Homecoming has come and gone and thus the school madness suddenly subsides.
No more half days, no more Growl, and no more football. The best is behind us and as much as we wish to go back, we can’t. But we can reminisce on the memories and one of the best homecoming weeks we’ve had in a while.
Homecoming like always was kicked off with the dance. After the dance the following week is Spirit Week. Spirit Week consisted of Tuesday: Cartoon Day, Wednesday: Superhero Day and Thursday: Green and Gold Day. This week was all about dressing to impress and showing off your school spirit.
Everyones favorite comes next, the Growl. The Growl is what really gets everyone pumped. That’s definitely what ill remember most after I leave high school. The yelling of juniors and seniors, the club skits, and that feeling everyone has in the gym. The feeling of us all coming together and knowing we make up the DeLand Bulldogs.
One thing we cant forget is the skits. First starts with Club Skits. Renaissance claimed their long time victory of first place. Class skits came next with not the seniors but the juniors taking home the gold. Last but certainly not least was male cheer. Male cheer is what really gets everyone pumped. This year seniors took their rightful place as winners with Juniors right behind them and sophomores in third.
The Parade follows The Growl that Friday and that night the Homecoming Game. The game might have been depressing for us Bulldogs but the football players played a good game even if they didn’t come out on top. The bulldog pride never stops, no matter the score.
