How To Make Your Own Christmas Ornaments
By Mary Escott
Crossword and Sports December 20, 2017 Buying ornaments for your Christmas tree can be fun but making them yourself is even funner (sorry, grammarians)
Creating ornaments is easy and inexpensive. You can get most of your supplies at Lowes and Michaels .For these ornaments you'll need some white, black, orange and any other color paint you want, some of your favorite nail polish and two ornaments. You can get the ornaments at Lowes and the paint at Michaels For the first ornament you'll be creating a handprint snowman family. First you'll have to paint you hand white and then carefully place the ornament in your palm and make sure the top of the ornament is at the top. Then set that aside and let it dry. Once dry grab your black paint and create your eyes, buttons, mouth and top hat. Next grab your orange paint and paint on your carrot nose. Now use your other color paint and paint a scarf on the neck of your snowmen. For the second ornament you'll be creating a marble ornament using nail polish. You'll need nail polish, as many colors as you want, a clear or white ornament and a paper bowl. You should use a paper bowl because the nail polish will stick to the sides and you might not be able to get it off the regular glass/plastic bowl. Firstly grab your paper bowl and fill it with water. Next pour your nail polish in the bowl but spread it out and make swirls and all sorts of designs. Now you will place your ornament in the bowl of water and gently lower it on the nail polish. The nail polish will stick to your ornament then just put it aside to dry and you're all finished. Creating your own ornaments is a great way to have fun and to create amazing memories. It's also a great craft to do with your family and you could even make it a tradition and make a new ornament each Christmas. |
