Get Ready for "In the Heights"!By Shania Strickland
Staff Reporter March 10, 2017 DeLand High School students will be putting on a play for the school and parents to see. The play "In the Heights" will be performed by students who attend DeLand High.
"In the Heights" was a book written by Quiara Alegría Hudes, and then turned into a popular movie by actors. Now DeLand High students decided to bring this book to life to the school. Using our very own students to put on this play. We have, Jenny Sejansky as the director, Ross Cawthon as the music director and Heather Gleason as the choreographer. Bringing the play to the school March 7-9 for many to see. This is to showcase the talent and creativity the students have. Sharing their talent with the whole school and community. In the past, the school has put on other amazing plays that also showcased the talent the kids have. "The Adams Family", "Inherit the Wind" and many more plays were performed and had been well thought out about. Students putting on outstanding performances and plays for all to see. All of this would have not happened if we did not have such a great theater teacher, Ann Sejansky. It takes a lot to put on a play and now we have one right around the corner. Take the time to go see "In the Heights" and help support your fellow classmates. They worked on this for months and took so much time out to put on a great performance. |
