Benefits of Drinking Water
By Leah Rando
Staff Reporter November 8, 2017 Water might be the second most popular drink in the U.S, but it’s on top of the charts for the healthiest. It does much more for you than just quench your thirst.
An estimated 75% of the U.S population falls short of the prescribed 64 ounces of water that you’re supposed to drink each day, so if you fall under that category, it’s a good thing to continue reading this article. Considering the facts that your brain is 90% water, your body is 70% water and the majority of your blood cells are water, it isn’t too hard to believe that you need so much water to function properly. If you have symptoms such as headaches, dry skin, dry mouth, dizziness, rapid heart rate, or anything else that doesn’t seem too normal, I’d suggest a little bit of water- or a lot of water. Drinking water can decrease your fatigue and dizziness, it can flush out all of your toxins and it can promote your weight loss. Drinking more water will strengthen your metabolism, improve your complexion and maintain regularity with your digestive system. Water drinkers also are at a lower risk of getting sick because the more water you drink, the better your immune system is. Drinking water will help prevent headaches/ migraines, it will help prevent cramps and injuries, but the biggest boost of all is that it’s free. So next time you’re at a restaurant or at home, think of all the benefits of water before you order a caffeinated drink. |
